If you've ever read the label on some of the commercially made dog foods and treats, you might wonder if you're really reading about food ingredients or something else. Some common ingredients are by-product meal, meat and bone meal, grain fillers, animal fats and oils, acidifying agents and lubricants.
But even more scary are the ingredients that are NOT listed on the label such as pesticides, antibiotics, mold, drugs like Penicillin, fungal toxins and plastic! When you think about what these ingredients could potentially do to your best friend, you're likely to run screaming for some healthy dog recipes.
While there are brands of dog food that are "healthier" than others, the only real way to make sure your pet is eating good quality ingredients is to make the food yourself. Healthy dog recipes for all sorts of food such as main courses, treats and frozen goodies are easy enough to find. Even crunchy bone-shaped treats can be made with dog biscuit recipes.
Generally our dogs will eat what we set before them. Since they rely on us to provide them with food it is up to us to be sure what we give them is good for them and doesn't cause them pain and suffering because of our poor choices. Using healthy dog treats recipes is a good way to improve the quality of food we give our dogs.
